At first sight, you do not immediately think of a corkscrew when you look at this rounded wine ball – and the unique design embodies much more than that, too.
The round ball houses a corkscrew, winestopper, bottle opener and foil cutter. The wine ball was designed by Eva Harlou, an acclaimed architect, and the rounded shape offers a unique, playful twist on minimalist styling. Its dynamic design and unique shape make it interesting and attractive to leave lying around, and it fits in with the styling of any home.
Eva Harlou about the design:
“I love it when a fresh approach solves all the challenges in a new design. The Wine Ball is a clear example of this.”
”I wanted to create a wine set that would be a natural, modern step to follow Rosendahl’s well known wine set from the 1990s, with its clear, geometrical shapes in
steel and black rubber. At the same time, I wanted the new wine set to have its own, unique design. The idea, too, was to create a product that contributes to the
table setting’s aesthetic, and which you want to have on display – in essence, anywhere in the home. A wine set whose elements – cork screw, foil cutter, wine pourer and opener – are easy to manage. An active product which, in addition to being functional, high-quality and beautiful, is a conversation-starter, as well as something you just want to pick up and hold.
Furthermore, I wanted to create a product that could be part of a series – for the sake of beauty when designing a living space, and because it’s so nice to have something to collect and to wish for. The Wine Ball became the natural solution to all of these aims. The Ball is just that type of complete creation that’s pleasant to look at and to touch. It radiates calm – and it has all these little surprises when you open it. I really like that.”
The wine ball is an ideal gift for the wine connoisseur, as the finishing touch to the ultimate well-stocked wine toolbox.
